Medical Students for Climate Action Pakistan is a student-led initiative working to address the growing health impacts of climate change through advocacy, education, and policy engagement. We believe that medical students have an important role to play in shaping a healthier and more sustainable future. Our work focuses on raising awareness of the links between climate change and health, building the capacity of future healthcare professionals, and creating opportunities for young people to engage in meaningful discussions with policymakers and health leaders. We organize educational events, awareness campaigns, and collaborative projects that encourage evidence-based action on climate and health. A key part of our mission is ensuring that youth perspectives are represented in health policy. By working with national and international partners, we aim to support policies that strengthen climate-resilient health systems and promote sustainable healthcare. Through this work, we hope to empower the next generation of health professionals to become effective advocates for both people and the planet.

We have engaged young people and communities across Pakistan through climate and health education, advocacy, and direct action. Through our awareness initiatives, including sessions for high school students on vector-borne diseases, we have helped young people understand how climate change influences disease patterns, public health risks, and the importance of prevention. Our community-based efforts have also translated knowledge into action. Through our Heat Relief Camp, we supported 200+ community members during periods of extreme heat by providing essential supplies, first aid support, and information on preventing heat-related illness. At the policy level, we have created opportunities for youth voices to shape climate and health discussions. Ahead of CSW70, we conducted a national virtual consultation with young people across Pakistan to explore the gendered impacts of climate change. The recommendations from this consultation were compiled into a report and submitted to contribute to CSW70 advocacy efforts. We also developed the Charter of Demands for the Local Conference Of Youth 2024, highlighting youth priorities for climate action, health equity, and resilient health systems.
