We are a movement to improve the health of people and the Earth. We run, clean, and collaborate with nature in its capacity to regenerate, while recognizing our bodies (physical, emotional, and spiritual) as the primary territory for care and regeneration. We unite sport and experiential environmental education in direct, concrete, and innovative action to mitigate solid waste pollution in cities. Our core practice is plogging, a global eco-sport trend that consists of collecting solid waste we find while walking through streets, wetlands, rivers, and parks. Each day, we move with purpose, collecting with our own hands the waste that pollutes water, soil, and air, and we remember that we are not separate from nature: we are nature, and its health is our health. Our plogging days would not be complete without our active partnership with professional recyclers. Together with them, we learn to properly classify and manage solid waste, recognizing and dignifying their fundamental role in society. Plogging is a refuge of active hope, a cultural experience for disease prevention and the promotion of healthy and sustainable habits, where we exchange knowledge and co-create a shared vision of what it would be to live “Without Leaving a Trace”

Since 2018, we have held over 155 plogging events in approximately 20 cities across Colombia, with the participation of more than 5,000 people who have directly contributed to revitalizing and cleaning various ecosystems, especially wetlands within Bogotá’s main ecological structure. These events have involved removing and recovering tons of solid waste from streets and waterways. The direct ecological impact is reflected in the reduction of plastics, microplastics, and other extracted materials, which means fewer opportunities for ingestion or entanglement by the wildlife—birds, amphibians, and pollinating insects—that inhabit these ecosystems. Many people have transformed their daily habits: they’ve replaced their larger trash container with a larger one for recyclables; others have reduced their cigarette consumption after the experience of collecting cigarette butts during a plogging event; and still others have started to be more physically active. People return home with information that empowers them to live healthier, more purposeful lives with improved mental health, moving from the frustration of feeling powerless to collective action, mutual support, and community well-being. None of this would have been possible without the more than 150 partner organizations that have made each educational initiative a reality over the years.
