The 2015 Climate and Health Summit took place on the 5th December 2015 alongside the UNFCCC Climate Summit, the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21), in Paris.
The conference theme was Engaging with Health in a Post-2015 World, and it brought together health professionals, policymakers, negotiators, academics and other members of the international community to find and develop answers to the overarching question, “How can public health change the conversation on climate change in a post-2015 world?”
Speakers discussed how best to engage the health sector, the public and other sectors including food, energy and transport in the multi-dimensional challenges of climate change and health, and created a platform for sharing ideas, research findings and success stories.
The Summit was coordinated by the Global Climate and Health Alliance in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the Société Française de Santé et Environnement (SFSE) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and our local implementing partner the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL).
